Seed Grader

A seed grader (or seed grading machine) is an agricultural equipment used to separate seeds into different size and weight categories to ensure uniformity in quality. Grading is a crucial step in seed processing, as it helps improve germination rates, planting efficiency, and market value.

Functions of a Seed Grader:

1. Size Separation â€“ Sorts seeds based on length, width, or thickness using perforated screens or sieves.
2. Weight/Density Separation â€“ Uses airflow or gravity tables to separate lighter, immature seeds from heavier, high-quality ones.
3. Shape Separation â€“ Some graders use indented cylinders or spiral separators to sort seeds by shape.
4. Removal of Defective Seeds â€“ Eliminates broken, undersized, or damaged seeds.
